Job Title: Sales Key Account Manager – Kinshasa & Surroundings Department: Sales – Fresh Business Reports To: Sales Director – Fresh Business Location: Kinshasa, DRC Job Summary We are looking for a Sales Key Account Manager to drive sales growth in Kinshasa and surrounding areas by managing key customer accounts, developing new business, overseeing secondary distribution (deliveries) from our warehouse to clients, and leading a small sales team. The role requires experience in selling to multiple customer segments (supermarkets, HoReCa, open market clients), strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to coordinate with internal departments such as logistics, warehousing, and finance. Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Business Development • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and achieve sales targets in Kinshasa and surrounding regions. • Identify new business opportunities, onboard new clients, and expand into different customer segments. • Conduct market analysis to understand customer needs, pricing trends, and competition. • Implement promotional activities to drive sales and brand awareness. 2. Key Account Management • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to maximize sales and profitability. • Provide after-sales support and resolve customer concerns efficiently. • Monitor customer orders, deliveries, and inventory needs to ensure smooth operations. 3. Secondary Distribution & Deliveries • Oversee secondary distribution from our warehouse to clients, ensuring deliveries are made on time and in full. • Work closely with the logistics and warehouse teams to optimize delivery schedules and improve efficiency. • Address and resolve delivery issues to maintain customer satisfaction. • Ensure accurate order fulfillment and proper handling of products to maintain quality standards. 4. Team Management & Development • Lead and mentor a team of two sales representatives, with potential for future team expansion. • Set performance targets, track progress, and provide coaching to improve sales effectiveness. • Foster a collaborative and motivated sales culture within the team. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with logistics and warehousing teams to ensure timely delivery and inventory availability. • Coordinate with finance to manage credit terms, invoicing, and collections. • Provide insights to the marketing team to support promotional efforts and branding strategies. 6. Flexibility & Hands-On Approach • The candidate is expected to go beyond the written responsibilities of the job when necessary, always with the objective of growing sales in the region. • This may include (but is not limited to) taking charge of deliveries, handling customer payment follow-ups, or temporarily assisting other departments such as finance and logistics to ensure smooth operations. • A problem-solving mindset and a willingness to take initiative are essential. Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in meat or perishable food products. • Customer Segments: Experience managing sales for supermarkets, HoReCa, and open market customers. • Languages: Proficiency in French and Lingala is required; English is a plus. • Skills: o Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. o Ability to work independently and drive business growth. o Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills. o Leadership experience in managing a sales team. |
